It’s Freezing Outside!

I really need to buy some gloves…

OK – so I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks – I’ve made myself really be on vacation. Two and a half weeks off (except for Sundays, of course) with my guys and it was incredible! We didn’t really “do” anything special – we just chilled out at home and enjoyed the holiday – just what I wanted to do! I have passed the first trimester so my energy was up a bit more and I didn’t feel like I was about to keel over. (the fact that all the craziness was over probably helped some, too)

It was back to work with me yesterday. My office was a disaster from the Christmas show so I spent most of the day cleaning out and trying to bring some sanity back into my office life. It’s almost there…still a few random snow flakes flying around, though. We’re back in full swing, too. My schedule for the next few months is crazy again. We’re taking all of the company girls plus a few other students from The Academy to Dance Revolution in Winston Salem next weekend. It’s always so much fun but exhausting… Then I drive to Florida on the 24th for my friend, Mindy’s wedding. (finally!!!) February we’re taking the dancers to Nashville to do a workshop at The River At Music City Church – can’t wait for this…then we fly straight from there to Dallas to the Creative Church Conference at Fellowship Church. In March, we load up a pile of us from The Rock to go to Unleash at Newspring Church in Anderson, SC. April and May are going to be completely immersed in our Glory Academy end of the year production, “Creation”.

OK – so now I want to go throw up…

Seriously – ministry is always going to be crazy and hectic – but as long as we keep things in perspective then we can survive. None of us have superhuman powers even though we like to think we do. None of us can change the world by ourselves….building a team is critical to our success in ministry and our success at not being thrown in the loony bin. We have to consistently raise the bar – every week – every month – every year. Lord knows I don’t want to remain on the same level for the rest of my life. Let’s do it better…more efficiently…more consistently every time. Let’s find better ways to accomplish more this year – sure we’re super busy. Sure the level of expectation being put on us is HUGE. Sure we could go crawl under a rock somewhere and whine about how much there is to do. (that’s sounds pretty good to me sometimes…) But come on – let’s buck up and do this thing! Let’s shake this city with the love of Christ like we never have before.

With all of the business that has already set in – I want to be sure to give attention to some personal things as well…

  • I want to love you all more – to make sure you know how much I appreciate each one of you and the impact you have on my life. God has put some amazing people in my life and I just want you to know that I adore you…
  • I want to be a better wife to my smoochie…he puts up with a lot from me and I want to be sure that I am being that Proverbs 31 woman that he needs me to be…
  • I want to be a better mom to Reagan and the little one coming in June – they are such precious gifts to me and I hope that I can do this mom thing justice…
  • I want to read more – my brain is becoming a bit mushy…
  • I want to really try to enjoy the time I have off from work – to savor the moments and not just fill them up with “things” – especially when I take maternity leave in June…

I know this a long, rambling post – but I needed to just get it all out there. So – show me some New Year’s Comment Love, please!

Whew! You are busy- that made me tired just reading it. You do a great job at all of those things- I can’t imagine a better Abbye, but I commend you on wanting to be one! I love you and am thankful to be a part of your life- and always will be! See you in a few weeks- looking forward to a visit, even if it’s a short one-

I am so grateful to be a part of this ministry.
Daniel 5:12 and 6:3 says that an excellent spirit was found in Daniel. It is a good thing to reach for excellence in all we do and not settle for the standard deal. That is what I see in you. You have taught me and inspired me over the past 3 years. I love you much and I think you are cool.
    Happy new year!!

I am awed by what all of our “kids” do. What will you all come up with this year….? Who will you impact with this gospel of His kingdom? And, oh yes…what will be the gender of our new grandchild?
