Did You Know?

  • My birthday is coming up on the 18th – I’m going to be 33 this year! (uggghhhh)
  • I have a chocolate addiction
  • When I was growing up I told my family I was going to marry a man who was a doctor AND a lawyer. That way I would be sure he would make enough money to support me! 😀
  • Don is working for a new company – Sodexho Marriot – they are keeping him late hours and I am trying to be patient.
  • Patience is not something that comes easy for me.
  • Reagan and I have made brownies three times in the past two weeks. Every day when he wakes up from his nap he asks to make another pan – we’re lucky I’ve only given in three times. (See the second bullet point above…)
  • I miss my job and all my friends at the office. (but I am SO thankful for this time with my babies)
  • I’m joining the worship team again next week! I have really missed being a part of the team and I am READY to get back up there…it’s been hard to just sit on the front row every week. I’m just not wired that way.
  • Reagan is with Donna today and Rylee actually went down for her nap on her own! I cleaned the floors, made the bed and actually got to put my makeup on! Woo Hoo!
  • David’s band, Aqua Viva, is playing at Airlie Gardens tomorrow night at 6PM. You should all go – Don and I try to go every month (1st Friday Jazz Concert every month!) and we take a picnic dinner and our lawn chairs. All general admission parking is offsite at the Galleria Shopping Center off Wrightsville Avenue between Oleander Drive and Eastwood Road. You park here and then take the trolley to the gardens. Admission is $8 for adults and $2 for kids. We’ll be there – so come and hang out with us!

Aunt Kristy

Many of you know about the fight my family has been in for several months. My Aunt Kristy has been in a battle with brain cancer and tonight she went to be with the Lord. My heart aches for my Uncle Milton, their two daughters, Julie and Jennifer, and their four grandkids. My parents will be leaving tomorrow to go and be with their family. We appreciate your prayers – this has been a difficult time and it is only by the grace of God that Aunt Kristy’s precious family has been able to get through this.

My Aunt Kristy was an amazing woman – a woman of God who served others with her life. She was a fantastic writer and artist and the world will miss her greatly. She and Uncle Milton raised two amazing daughters who stay behind to carry on her legacy. I can’t wait to see how God uses them to touch the world as He did their mom.

If you have not yet read their story, please go HERE and take the time to follow their journey- it is truly amazing.

Uncle Milton, Julie and Jennifer – we love you and are praying daily for God’s grace and love to carry you through this.

Just Call Me A Little Crazy

I sat on the front row Sunday – in my usual spot…the spot I’ve sat in for years…and realized that I was already going a little stir crazy. I am so excited about what God is doing at The ROCK – more excited than I have been in a while – and I’m not the kind of person that can just be a pew warmer. I honestly don’t understand the people who can be content just showing up from 10-11:30 on most Sunday mornings without ever getting involved in the work of the ministry. I would go absolutely nuts.

And I have to just take a moment to say how proud I am of the creative arts team – you guys are killing it every Sunday morning! You are giving your time and talents to see God glorified in this city and you make it easy for God’s people to come together in worship. I am beyond proud of you all and I am itching to join you again.

I am honored beyond words to be a part of what God is doing in Wilmington. God is up to some amazing things – not just at The ROCK – He’s doing incredible new things in churches all over this city. After a few more weeks of baby time I will most assuredly be ready to get back to work. (if they want me back, that is…:)

The First Two Weeks

Rylee is 12 days old today! It’s been so nice to have my smoochie, Don, home with us for the the last two weeks. I’m worried that when he goes back to work on Monday that I’m going to realize how much work this is really going to be.

I do have to say that this little girl is absolutely perfect – she is such a little angel and I can’t wait to see how she starts to grow and reach different milestones.

Here are few pictures from the past couple of weeks…

This pictures was taken when Reagan came to meet his baby sister at the hospital –

Reagan wanted to measure Rylee…

We’ve been having so much fun getting to know our girl. She is such a gift from God and I already can’t imagine our lives without her!

My Amazing Friend

Hi, everyone! Don and I have an amazing friend –

Most of you know Millie Holloman, one of the most incredible photographers on the planet…she consistently amazes me with her creativity, her energy and her commitment to excellence. We are thrilled to have her as our friend.

Yesterday, the family headed over to Millie’s office/studio for some pictures of Rylee. Of course, they turned out so beautifully. I won’t post any here, you have to go to her blog to see them. Be sure to leave her some comment love!

Rylee Lyric is Here!

Hi, everyone! I would apologize for not posting recently…but I think I have a pretty good excuse! Saturday, Rylee Lyric arrived at 11:58 am after much pain and hard work. But more than that…much joy. We are so glad she is here and can’t wait to continue getting to know her. So far, she is an amazing little girl – so peaceful and easy. And – she’s absolutely gorgeous! Thanks, everyone, for all of your prayers and support! Here are a few pictures – thank you, Matthew, for not getting freaked out too much so that you could come and document this miracle!
